Ambassador Joachim Bitterlich is the former European, Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to Federal Chancellor Helmut Kohl, Permanent Representative of Germany to NATO,  and Germany’s Ambassador to Spain. He is a Professor (Affiliate) at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Paris (ESCP) and served previously in business as Executive Vice President International Affairs Veolia Environnement Paris and Chairman Veolia Environnement Germany, Berlin.
